Who are we?

Pickleball Tasmania is the peak body in Tasmania for Pickleball.  We are a not-fot-proft, Incorporated Association affiliated with the Pickleball Australia Association.  Our committee is made up of volunteers who are passionate about nurturing and growing Pickleball across the state.

Our History:

Pickleball Tasmania was Incorporated on 11 January 2021 with the inaugural committee comprising of Zoe Exton, Tracey Rowell (Treasurer), Phil Exton, Roy Barker, Ann Hines, Melissa Carlton (Secretary)  and Robbie Cooper (President).  For more on the history of Pickleball in Tasmania, visit our History Page.

Are you passionate about pickleball and eager to help shape the future of the sport in Tasmania? We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals from across the state to join the Pickleball Tasmania Committee.

As a committee member, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Play a key role in developing our next strategic plan, guiding Pickleball Tasmania’s direction for the next three years.

We're particularly keen to recruit members with skills in:

2024 / 2025 Nomination Process and Timing

Committee Information:

Meeting Frequency:

  • The State Committee generally meets every month online for an ordinary committee meeting.  Meetings are 1.5 hours long (on average).
  • Sub-Committee and Portfolio areas meet as required.
  • Committee members also participate in a half day planning workshop - usually in January.

Role and Responsibilities of Committee Members 

  • Upholding the vision and values of the Pickleball.
  • Overseeing the operations of Pickleball Tasmania and making sure it's legal and financial obligations are met. 
  • Developing and overseeing an annual plan for the Association
  • Working with Pickleball Australia Association to grow the sport together.
  • Where possible, supporting sub-committees and portfolios
  • Listen to and advocate for the members of the Association.

Eligibility to join the committee:

  • Be a financial member of Pickleball Tasmania
  • Reside in Tasmania
